WSL Fixture Release Day

Charlton will begin their first season in the WSL hosting Liverpool at The Valley on Sunday 6th September. The two teams met back in April, also at The Valley, in the Quarter Final of the Women’s FA Cup, with Liverpool winning 1-0 after extra time but Charlton will take a lot of positives from that game having more than matched their opponents. A first away day is a week later, completing a Merseyside double as we travel to Goodison Park to face Everton. Week 3 sees the first London derby of the season when big spending London City Lionesses make the short trip from Bromley to SE7. With 6 other London clubs in the WSL there will be many London derbies to look forward too.  Our final home game is against Tottenham on 9th May 2027 and we complete the season with a North London double with a visit to The Emirates to play Arsenal (although an actual date for that game has yet to be finalised)  It all seems very real now! The full fixture list is as follows : SEPTEMBER 2026 6th Liv...

Charlton Sign Ash Neville

Charlton have signed experienced defender Ashleigh Neville from relegated side Leicester City. The 33 year old arrives at The Valley already familiar with her surroundings as, her last game for Leicester, was the play off defeat which saw her then Leicester team relegated to WSL2 as Charlton won promotion to the WSL in that dramatic penalty shootout. Ash brings valuable WSL experience to the squad having played in the top flight for Tottenham & the aforementioned Leicester and she also reunites with Karen Hills, who signed her for Spurs when she was manager there beck in 2017 Welcome to SE7 Ash!

Newsh Extends

Charlton announced today that Charlotte Newsham has signed a contract extension keeping her at the club until 2027. The 26 year old has been a key figure for Karen Hills’ side since joining in 2024. During that time she has developed into a leader on and off the pitch and has captained the side and also got called up, and made her international debut for Scotland. Newsh is currently recovering from a serious knee injury sustained on the last day of the WSL2 season against Birmingham. We wish her well in that recovery and can’t wait to see her back on the pitch.

Lorena Azzaro Joins Charlton

Charlton have announced the signing of French forward Lorena Azzaro. The 25 year old has signed on a season long loan from Première Ligue side Paris FC, having scored 8 goals for them last season. Strewth! Leah Davidson Is An Addick!

Charlton have today announced the signing of Australian midfielder Leah Davidson on a 2 year deal. The 25 year old has signed from Melbourne City, where she spent the last 6 years. Leah has represented Australia at full international level, having been capped 4 times and scoring 1 goal for The Matildas so far. She joins fellow Australian “Neighbour” Grace Johnston in signing for The Addicks, and I’m sure she will look forward to playing “Home & Away” for Charlton this season. Welcome to SE7 Leah.

Anna Koivunen Is An Addick

Charlton today announced the signing of Finnish goalkeeper Anna Koivunen who joins on a 2 year deal from Swedish side Djurgården. Anna has been capped 6 times for Finland and most recently played at the 2025 European Championships. The 24 year old adds valuable depth to our goalkeeping ranks, particularly as Anna Pedersen had to go off at half time during the 3-0 win over Chatham on Sunday with a quad injury. Welcome to Charlton Anna.

Chatham Town Women 0-3 Charlton Athletic Women

Charlton began their preseason campaign with a 3-0 win against Chatham on a sunny afternoon at The Bauvill. It was the hosts who enjoyed the better of the opening minutes but Charlton grew into the game and ended up running out comfortable winners. In the 32nd minute, Ellie Mason scored our first goal, collecting the ball just inside the area and then finishing well after a neat first touch and turn. Ellie Mason & Jodie Hutton both hit the woodwork in the first half too. Charlton had the chance to increase their lead in the 37th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Gloria Siber was brought down but Gillian Kenney saw her spot kick well saved by Chatham keeper Baravik. Two goals in 5 minutes at the start of the second half saw Charlton increase their lead. First, on 52 minutes, Kiera Skeels headed home a corner at the back post. Then, on 57 minutes, some good high pressing from Charlton saw Gillian Kenney win the ball on the edge of the area and she coolly slotted home in t...
